Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Audiences saw Vizcaya in a new light as IlluminArts presented Benjamin Britten’s gothic masterpiece, The Turn of the Screw. The courtyard of Vizcaya's Main House was transformed in this unique multimedia experience that drew the audience into the opera’s chilling plot.
The chamber opera The Turn of the Screw tells the ghostly story of an old mansion with expansive gardens and the secrets behind the lives lived there. Designed and directed by Laine Rettmer, this site-specific production weaved together live video, projections and historical photographs that intertwined the opera’s plot with the intrigue of the lives lived at Vizcaya.
